NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A former police officer in North Charleston arrested on DUI charges has requested a jury trial.
The North Charleston Police Department fired Nicholas Lomma earlier this year after he was arrested for DUI when he drove his patrol car into a Colleton County ditch.

South Carolina Highway Patrol arrived on the scene to arrest him.
Dash camera video in the patrol car captured the incident. Not only was Lomma driving under the influence, troopers say, but he was also 10 miles outside of city limits in a patrol vehicle.
Lomma was originally set to undergo trial on Thursday, but it has now been scheduled for a later date.
