Rep. Gilliard addressing homelessness in N. Charleston | News
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A state representative is set to hold a meeting on the concerns of homeless people in the North Charleston area.
State Rep. Wendell Gilliard has scheduled a meeting for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Council Chambers in North Charleston City Hall.
Gilliard issued a news release saying the meeting will discuss the requests and concerns of the homeless. He has long been an advocate for the homeless and is one of the organizers of the annual Coat & Clothes Giveaway that's held yearly on New Year's Day in Charleston.
The giveaway provides clothing, blankets and food for the homeless, veterans and the needy.
